The town of Newmilns sits astride the A71 about 4 miles east of Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire.
Directions from Kilmarnock and the west
Head for the Bellfield Interchange, which is the meeting of the A77, A71 and A76 on the south-east side of Kilmarnock.
Take the A71 heading east, signed for Edinburgh, passing MacDonalds on your right.
After about half a mile (having passed under a railway bridge) you reach the roundabout at the centre of Hurlford. Go straight over, keeping on the A71..
After another 2 miles you reach Galston and another roundabout. Head straight over, keeping on the A71, passing Tescos and the Co-op on your right.
After a further 1½ you reach the outskirts of Newmilns after passing the Golf Course on your left.
Enter the 30mph limit, passing the Fire Station and then the Primary School.
Pass the playing fields immediately beyong the Primary School and then take the first turning on the left (Gilfoot), just before the pelican crossing and speed camera.
Go straight over the mini-roundabout that you hit almost immediately, go straight up Gilfoot to the T-junction.

Directions from the M74 and the east
Take Junction 8 off the M74 (A71), and head west, taking signs for Stonehouse and Strathaven.
Stay on the A71 around Stonehouse, through Strathaven, Caldermill, Drumclog, Priestland, and Darvel.
Leaving Darvel, go straight on, up over the hill and down into Newmilns.
Head straight along Loudoun Road (A71), through the town centre, until you pass a speed camera on your left and then a pelican crossing.
Immediately after the pelican crossing, turn right into Gilfoot.
Go straight over the mini-roundabout that you hit almost immediately, go straight up Gilfoot to the T-junction.
